Hi,

Is there a way to password protect local queues or the java channel? Right onw the way our QM is set up, anyone can use a java program to put and get messages from the queue if they know the QM name and ip address. Is there a way to tighten the QM security? thank you!

---There sure is, for both of them. For local queues, use SETMQAUT to set the authorities to specific users. If you have lots of users, then you should set authorities to those who are permitted to access the queues, than who are not. As for channel. If you are connecting to the QM using the svrconn channel, then you can specify a userid and then map this userid to a principal, thus allowing access to only few users.

---See the explaination above.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.
Kumar
