Not sure what you mean by 'lists and pattern types'. Are you referring to XML Schema list types? Please give more information on what you want to do. |

Now I know what you mean. I still don't know what you want to do, but I'll try to answer the question anyway.
WBI-MB v5.0 does not support XML schema list types/union types. It does not support pattern facets except on simple types derived from xsd:string. It does suppport wildcards, but the validation rules are slightly different from the XML Schema specification.
I do not know of any fix pack which addresses these issues, but IBM are aware that it is a problem to some customers, and future versions may well include support for some or all of the above.
If you tell me what your actual problem is, I may be able to suggest a work-around. |

Hi,
Thanks for that.
My requirement is whenever there is a statusrequest message from our client we want to send him a list of all the previous status of his message he submitted to us.The design uses XML lists for this. But broker doesnt support this. What is your suggestion??
Regarding the patterns I thing we have rework our design.

You could model the list as a string, and simply assign a space-separated list of values to it. This has two drawbacks
1. You will not be able to validate the list. (but you may not be validating anyway - you do not state whether validation is enabled in your message flow)
2. When you upgrade to a version of the broker which supports list types, you might need to change your message set and message flow to take advantage of the real list type support. |
