hi all,
i have installed WBIMB 5.0 CSD03 on MQ5.3 CSD 06 on win 2000 server.
DB2 V8.1
i had created config mgr and a broker each on a different qmgrs
started them, checked the communication between the two qmgrs.
In the toolkit when i created a refernce to the broker and made a complete deploy. theres an alert saying defalut exec grp not running
and alert symbol on the whole domain.
No errors in the event log and also application log.
Execution groups don't start "running" until they have a message flow deployed to them. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
thanks its running now!!
I thought if deployed a messageit would create some more errors.
Now i want to create a broker on a solaris box and configure it.
For this i have already installed the runtime components and CSD03
do i need to have a db2/oracle on the same box or any box and also
are there any considerations i need to do???

I can answer about DB2.
You don't have to have DB2 on the same box as the broker. If you have database on some other box then you need to have DB2 client on the broker machine. You then need to catalog the DB2 instance and DB2 and do some more stuff in ODBC I guess.
That's an overview of what has to be done but for more info look at the manual.
