I'm trying to configure the MQ Connector for ICS, and failing.
I'm getting error 14001, "Cannot Start Connector. Reason: Messaging Initialization Failed". If I click on this in Log Viewer, it provides the additionally helpful "Connector Controller cannot be started. The typical reasons might be 1) MQSeries queue has nto been defined for this connector. 2) The business object definitions that are supported by this connector cannot be found in the repository".
The only business objects that are defined to the connector (listed in the Supported Business Objects pane) are JMSPropertyPairs, Sample_WebSphereMQ_DynMO_Config, Sample_WebsphereMQ_MO_Config, Sample_WebSphereMQ_MO_DataHandler, and Sample_WebSphereMQ_MO_DataHandler_DelimitedConfig. All of these are deployed to the ICS broker already.
The ICS instance is named ICSLAB, and I have named the connector MQCONNECTOR, and created the following queues on the ICS Queue Manager - MQCONNECTOR/ADMININQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/ADMINOUTQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/DELIVERYQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/FAULTQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/REQUESTQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/RESPONSEQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/SYNCHRONOUSREQUESTQUEUE
- MQCONNECTOR/SYNCHRONOUSRESPONSEQUEUE
- AP/MQCONNECTOR/ICSLab
- IC/ICSLab/MQCONNECTOR
I have been unable to get ICS to give me any more useful information about why the connector can't be initialized. After system restart, the MQ Connector shows up in the Connecotrs folder on the ICSLab in System Manager, but with what I guess is the "in recovery state" icon, not the running icon.
I enabled tracing on the connector, but this hasn't helped. All it says is that the MQConnector reached an "initDone" state after creating the ServerTransportManager. Then it tells me that the connector couldn't be started, because messaging isn't enabled.
I started my initial connector configuration using the installed Connector Configuration Template for the WebSphere MQ Connector.
There are no relevant entries in my system log (I'm on Windows).
Is there something else I can do to get more information about what's going wrong? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

No.
But I got at least different behavior by fixing other configuration issues, apparently, with the ICS stuff.
I haven't gotten my hands back in with this in a few weeks, so I don't even exactly remember where I was. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
