Hi All
I can't seem to find the system requirements for WebSphere MQ v5.3 for windows 2000 anywhere.
I mean I can find IBM's page with system requirements but it holds nothing about ram, cpu or anything. No hardware information is to be found. It is ofcource in someways related to the load on the queue manager, but again performance of WepSphere MQ is nowhere to be found either.
Does any of you MQ wizards out there have a link to an IBM page or readme file, anything really for minimum or recommended hardware requirements on a windows operating system ?
And do anybody have some performance readings.
I have performed my own loadtests, but they are for server to server using 1 channel only. We use Persistent messages and got the best results for messages of the size 100 Kb to 1 Mb. Top performance was 20-24 Gb in an hour (It did nothing else). This goes down a lot when using smaller files and larger files too which I dont really understand. I mean I understand the overhead on the filesystem on small messages Its the larger own that escapes me. Perhaps its the size of the logfiles, but I'm guessing. But thats not really important, just rambling on I guess.
If you could help me out I would be a happier man.
Btw
Don't shoot the messenger |

Hmmm ...
Found some sort of an answer in quick beginnings:
http://publibfp.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/html/amqtac04/amqtac040b.htm#HDRAMQ721E
Any IBM PC machine (or compatible), based on a 32-bit Intel processor.
And some Mb of hardware space. This ofcourse depends on how many persistent messages you would want to able to store at any given time.
Still looking but information is hard to get I guess. |
