Hi guys

Patching to CSD7 due to the Listener issue with CSD 6, however after patching MQ Explorer comes up with a user/group error, effectively cannot connect to the local QM. At the command prompt level it seems OK. Uninstalling CSD 7 doesn't return me to the previous workable state.

My quick fix was to uninstall MQ, reinstall MQ and do CSD 7. This works, but obviously isn't the ideal solution.

What could be causing the problem, and how do I get around it?

The servers are W2K using NT4 domain controllers for domain authentication.

It also sounds as if somehow the MQ account used for authorization may have become disconnected or other related permission may have been messed up. Check your MQM account and make sure it is still properly authorized (though this is now mute since you performed a re-install). It could have been something as simple as re-synchronizing passwords. I've had this happen where I've made a change and I could not connect to my QM's because the password for the MQM account expired on those QM's but kept working on the other ones since no change had yet been made that caused MQ Explorer to refresh itself causing it to re-authenticate itself against the MQM account. You can also check your event logs as this will usually show up in the event logs as a stop event.
