I am getting this error after installing and configuring a new QM in Linux. I had it working initially but the next time I tried issuing an strmqm it gave me that error
AMQ7153: A license could not be installed for this copy of WebSphere MQ.
I can't find anything directly related on this site so far. I am using user mqm when issing this command. Any idea? Please help ....thanks. |

did you run setmqcap successfully?
did you run mqlicense.sh successfully?
You may need to set the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL before runing mqlicense.sh.
A search here will turn up some recommended values for LD_ASSUME_KERNEL, and some suggestions are available in the installation guide (or perhaps the readme/memo.ptf file ) for how to manually install licenses if mqlicense.sh doesn't run. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi I tried exporting the kernel same results....
uname -r produces : 2.4.9-e.43smp
I could have sworn I had the QM working the other day. That's the strange thing. I tried looking for the mqscript.sh file but that's gone..not sure if I ended up cleaning the code because I though I was done with the install. |

Hi..I appreciate your reply's
Actually when I originally ran the mqscript it installed without any errors. If I recall correctly I had to accept the agreement.
The only thing I didn't do initially was run the setmqcap command
So I found the number of processors on the box after I created the QM and then ran the setmqcap but didn't make a difference. When I type dspmqcap it keeps saying that I need to: ie.
Purchased processor allowance not set (use setmqcap).
The number of license units is sufficient for all future possible upgrades to
this machine.
The number of processors in this machine is 4 |

So setmqcap is not taking, for some reason.
You should be saying "setmqcap 4", I believe.
What is the output when you run this command?
What do you have in <MQ Install Root>/licenses?
What is the output of the command 'mqlicense.sh -accept'? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hi
Ok, I ran the mqlicense.sh -accept and it seemed to have accepted the command and said 'Proceed with Install'. So went to try and run the crtmqm or strmqm but no luck. I ran the setmqcap=4 again. I tried it without the = but it doesn't like that..
Must be something really silly.. |

Fixed.
I just reinstalled the thing. Thankfully I didn't have to reinstall the MQ tools or recreate the qm or queues. It maintained that info..guess it didn't delete the directories when I removed the rpm's.
Thanks again. |
