Installed WebSphere MQ v5.3 + CSD 06 on a Windows 2003 server and configured a queue; the listner
is configured as Startup = Automatic, and the parameters of the listener are Protocol=TCP, Port=1414- default one.

I am able to start/stop the listener and also to start/stop the queue (also checked with netstat -a for 1414).

When I reboot the server, the listener is gone. I have an alert in the MQ alert log,
and the status of the listener shows as stopped. When I check the properties of the listener,
my initial settings are gone (TCP, and the port-1414).

If I re-enter the properties of the listener, the problem is fixed until the next reboot.

Any idea why the listener properties are gone and how can this be fixed?

Thanks for your responses.

Cheers.

check out APARs beyond CSD06. It is a well known problem with windows CSD06 and has to do with the registry. It should be fixed in CSD07

Just to extend the previous answer slightly, if you look in the location you downloaded fixpack 7 from, there is another option showing the interim fixes.

Whenever you download a fixpack, I would check for interim fixes (and periodically check back / sign up for alerts through mySupport) as any critical problem with the fixpacks would be shipped as interim fixes.

In this case, there is an interim fix for this exact problem, so you can apply it on top of your fixpack 6 install, and stay at fixpack 6, OR go straight to fixpack 7.
