Help. Tried upgrading to v5.2 on Solaris 2.5 server (was running 5.0) and had issue and tried to revert back to v5.0. This server is being retired but not for a few months and I must get the developers back functioning. After re-installing 5.0 from scratch get the following message.
06/10/04 09:38:05
AMQ6175: The system could not dynamically load the library
/opt/mqm/lib/amqzxmr0. The error message was ld.so.1: amqzxma0: fatal:
relocation error: file /usr/lib/libmqmr.so: symbol xcsUSleep: referenced symbol
not found. The Queue Manager will continue without this module.
EXPLANATION:
This message applies to Sun Solaris systems. The dynamically loadable file
/opt/mqm/lib/amqzxmr0 failed to load correctly due to an internal error. and
the MQSeries error recording routine has been called.
ACTION:
Check that the file has not been corrupted then use the standard facilities
supplied with your system to record the problem identifier, and to save the
generated output files. Contact your IBM support center. Do not discard these
files until the problem has been resolved. _________________ Bob Perry

Not even a hint from anyone?
I ended up copying an entire directory structure (/opt/mqm/bin) from another Solaris server running 5.0. Don't know why a clean install did not work. _________________ Bob Perry

Did that fix it?
BTW, this is just a hunch, but perhaps the 5.2 shared library was already loaded into memory, so installing the 5.0 version on disk wouldn't change this. Did you cycle the machine after installing 5.0? _________________ Brandon Duncan

Yes, copying the directories over fixed it. I thought it might be memory and had the server recycled but MQ kept giving me the error message above. I didn't recycle after the directory move.
I think the problem was with the installer or the way my Unix Admin did it.
Thanks for checking, Brandon. _________________ Bob Perry
