Roger,

I am running VisualEdit 1.2.2 - downloaded it yesterday.

I have a queue manager on Win2000. There is a normal local queue FROMQ with the copied contents of an xmit queue. I am trying to move the messages from FROMQ to TOQ - TOQ is a normal local queue as well.

I highlight the first message in FROMQ, right-click, and select Forward. An error box pops up with message IOException CP437. The message does not get moved.

Not expecting to have problems with a function that I knew worked in previous versions, I first tried to do this for the entire queue full of messages (2959). This generated about 1300 error message boxes before the application ground to a halt. I had to terminate it and not allow the function to complete.

If you need any more information to help reproduce this error, please let me know.

Dave A.

Hi,

When you open the xmit queue, deselect the 'Convert on Get' option and that should allow it to process the messages.

To further investigate the problem, I need more information:
- What platform are you running MQ Visual Edit on?
- What JVM are you using (click Help->About to get the info)
- Are you connecting in binding or client mode to the queue manager? (remote or local)
- What version & csd is the queue manager that you are connecting to?

Hi,

I was doing some searches for MQ & cp437 and I came across a posting with a similar problem (I love Google). Basically, the problem was the JDK/JRE was not internationalized.

Therefore, I would like you to do the following:
- Uninstall ALL previous versions MQ Visual Edit. (i.e. Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and remove all MQ Visual Edit occurances).
- Go to C:\Capitalware\MQ Visual Edit and delete the directory and everything in it.
- Download the MQ Visual Edit v1.2.2. that includes the JVM (23MB download).
- Install it.
- Try it out.

I know you have JVM of v1.4.1 but the MQ Visual Edit with JVM is the internationized version at release level v1.4.2. Note: Installing MQ Visual Edit with the JVM will NOT affect other programs on your PC using Java because it is buried within the MQ Visual Edit directory structure.
