Hey folks,
I just un-installed CSD06 (winxp pro.) and in the process of trying to install CSD05 am getting the following error. Any clues as to what's going on here. Am I missing something somwhere?
Here is a copy of the
error file that the setup directed me to. I also deleted the 2 folders labeled CSD05 and CSD06 in the windows install for MQ but that didn't seem to do much.

:)
I havent seen this before, but as the error text tells you, it looks like you still have some files lying around from your CSD06 installation. Since the files are from the samples directory, i wouldnt really mind deleting them off and installing CSD05. If that helps me pass this quickly enough, rather than scratching my head for a couple of days trying to fix this thing.
Samples could be installed later, if i am not wrong. Or you could just copy them from the cd. :)
BTW what does mqver show??? Both after and before the install(CSD05) process. If it shows CSD05, then i wouldnt really bother, unless of course there are other errors than what you posted.
Cheers

Its a 'feature' of going from eg. ga -> 6 -> ga -> 5
Install of fp6 adds new files (actually they were 'new' in fp4), and rollback only rollsback the files which were modified during the install. Therefore when you then try to install fp5, you are finding files on the machine we are trying to replace which are actually newer than the ones being installed and we chose to flag that as an error
Simple solution: Before running the fixpack install:
Code: |
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\mqic32xa.dll" mqic32xa.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\amqzsaicxa.dll" amqzsaicxa.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\amqmtsxatmc.dll" amqmtsxatmc.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\mqcc1415.dll" mqcc1415.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\mqcc4swi.dll" mqcc4swi.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Java\lib\rmm.jar" rmm.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\c\Samples\Bin\amqscicc.Dll" amqscicc.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\c\Samples\Bin\amqsxaec.exe" amqsxaec.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\Lib\mqcxa.lib" nqcxa.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\Lib\mqccics4.lib" mqccics4.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\Lib\mqic32xa.lib" mqic32xa.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\c\Samples\amqstxmc.mak" amqstxmc.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin\imqx23vn.dll" imqx23vn.xxx
ren "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\Lib\imqx23vn.Lib" imqx23vn.xxx |

Yes Kumar, I ended up deleting the directly and that apparently did the trick. I just thought it to be a little strange, in that when I did an 'mqver' it showed that no CSD was installed. This leads me to believe that the CSD06 rolled back ok to a certain extent, but only up to the point where upon performing an MQVER on the commandline does it show no CSD at all.
I believe Jason's solution will also work, by renaming the files although I didn't try it once it worked for me by deleting the directory.
Anyway, Thanks to all again!
