All,
I am having re-ocurring problem with runmqlsr. It takes a reboot and serveral manuall attempts to startup runmqlsr, eventhough it is set to startup after reboot. There should only be one parent process running for runmqlsr, in this case I am seing several of it; I know this is a result of us trying to get it to work. But according to tcp/ip, there should only one server process binding to any port, in this case port 1414. If a server proc. already is bind to port 1414, then it should not let a second one bind to it. It is wierd that I am see-ing serveral server process binding to port 1414. Checking with netstat, I only see one server proc binding to port 1414, but with ps. I am seing serveral. Any idea? I would like to get this to work properly. I am a newbie, so any suggestions on how to check my configuration or to get this to work properly is welcome. BTW, the mq version is 5.2. Thanks.

you should end your mqlsr. All of them. Try endmqlsr command.
Then quesce your queue manager. Try endmqm <qmgrname>.
Then try get the latest CSD for MQ5.2. Ensure you end all mq process and applications before applying the fix.
Check to ensure you have no entries in the inetd file. Just in case there is one, you should not be issuing runmqlsr.
Also check out the manual - Quick Beginnings guide. Click on the documentation link above.
btw, MQ5.2 support has ended. |
