In the perfect world, clients would upgrade all their servers in one go, so that versions would all be kept consistent.
Anyway, I've been asked to check the feasibility and practicality, of having two or more MQ 5.3 servers, running different fix packs. Typically CSD03 and CSD05 servers would coexist on the same network, and the same cluster, happily sharing their messages (or not so happily as the case may be).
Note that they already know that CSD03 isn't the brightest idea anyway... but that's business politics for you.
Thanks. |

It should be fine. We still have 5.2 Qmgrs talking in a cluster to 5.3 qmgrs without a problem....so far....watch it go to hack in a handbasket now! |

I hope your full repositories are 5.3, or that you are not using SSL.
If you have 5.2 repositories for 5.3 QMs using SSL... you will corrupt your repositories. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Yep...the full repositories are on z/OS and are at 5.3. We don't use SSL as we are behind or own firewall so we have not experienced with any issues with SSL.
We did have a couple of 'funnies' with the clusters just after upgrading to 5.3 on z/OS but a refresh of the entire cluster cleared everything up nicely |
