Hi,

I have written a small piece of security exit code to be used between a sender and receiver channel. Currently I am using the 'ConnectionName' parameter in pChannelDefinition structure to get the IP address of the system that is trying to connect and filter (terminate the connection )it if doesnt match with the list of trusted IPs thats maintained in a file.

Further to this i would also like to do the filtering based on the Queuemanager name. But the QMgrName parameter in the channel definition gives only the IP address of the Host system and not the one that is attempting to connect. Is there a way to find it?

Regards,
Ram

Hi,

You should NOT be re-inventing the wheel when there is a FREELY available solution that does (almost) exactly what you are trying to do.

Go get security exit BlockIP2 from M-Invents at:
http://www.mrmq.dk/

Note: There is also a LogIP & BlockIP.

BlockIP2 does IP matching / blocking (including wild-carding matching) plus it can block connections from Userids of mqm, MSUR_MQADMIN or a blank UserID.

For your requirements, the only thing missing is the matching of queue manager name. Just add a few lines of code and you are ready to go.

Regards,
Roger Lacroix

Hi,

The real solution to this is to develop a pair of exits, which uses a protocol to exchange security credentials, including exchange queue manager names etc....

Maybe BlockIP2 will have a cousin with this feature...

Just my $0.02
