Any suggestions on how to monitor the state of a broker, execution group and Message Flow ( Up/down) in an AIX environment?

You can check to see if the processes for the broker and the execution group are running.

You can check the Open Input Count for your input e Fqueues to see if a Message Flow is running (or check the Queue Depth & Dequeue Rate).
