I believe the problem I had was with spaces in the file names that were in the path. If you change all of your file names in the PATH and CLASSPATH environments variables to use the tilde format (~) then you should get by.

I did not do this install myself, so I am not certain exactly which it was PATH or CLASSPATH, but I think if all the filenames meet the 8.3 type standard you will be fine. Of course, I think that IBM will still say this is unsupported on XP
