Hello,
Can I use MQ Visual Edit to COPY messages from a dead letter queue to a regular queue. Normally, a dead letter queue header was added to the message, so I'd like to strip this from the message.
The message that is copied to the normal queue should be the original message that should have been put on it (the messages was sent to the DLQ because the normal queue was full!)
I'm talking about 50.000 messages, so there should be an automated manner to do this. Unformatunately, I don't have time to do this by hand |

Not sure about Visual Edits capabilities to do this - however you could just use the dead letter handler. |

Hi,
Yes, MQ Visual Edit can copy any number of messages from the Dead Letter Queue to a regular application queue. It can also remove the Dead Letter Header. The messages will retain the original message's MQMD.
Moving 50,000 messages would not be a problem.
This can be done very quickly with MQ Visual Edit:- First update your Preferences to read 50,000 messages (Max Number of Messages to retrieve).
- Second, open the Dead Letter Queue and the select all messages (either CTRL-A or click View->Select All).
- Third, click the Forward button or click Edit->Forward Message and select your application queue and then click OK
- Done - 50,000 messages will be moved.
Regards,
Roger Lacroix
