Hi

Is it possible to assign an application name that does not exist when creating a new program within MQWF? The reason being is that for testing I want a message to go straight through from one activity to the next, not popping up any windows (currently using fmcnshow.exe to append data to msg).

I am basically wondering if there is an IBM-supplied app that I can call (again, along the lines of fmcnshow.exe or fmcsiyes.exe)?

Apologies for the confusing mail - any questions let me know and I will try to make it clearer.

Thanks

Mark:

I know of no such IBM supplied utility. But I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do. If you want to have an activity simply take input container data move to output container and go away without any windows openning that can certainly be done. I use a little "IEFBR14" program to do this. Essentially it is a C program that has one statement return;. If you model your activity to have automatic start, and have as its assigned staff, some logged on user (normally I would make this assignment to "Process Starter) then have the Program Object set to "Can run unattended". Then the way to get the Input Container Data to the output container is to use the Data Default Connector. When the activity is reached the program will fire off, but since there is nothing there it will immediately end (actually if you dont want to see the window open and close you could set the program object to "Invisible", MQWF (through the Data Default Connector) will move the data for you.

Now, I am not sure if this is what you are after so, if you would like to speak on monday, send me an email with the best time to contact you and I will try and get in touch with you on Monday. I just noticed that you are in th UK, so timing might be difficult I am on Pacific time in the US. Probably about 5 or so hours behind you.
