Hi,
We recently encountered two situations on mainframe MQ RACF and I am trying to get my head around this as a lot seems to be at play here.
a) A mainframe batch application is trying to put message on a local queue and uses PMO_ALTERNATE_USER_AUTHORITY ; but the ALTERNATE userid field on MQOD is blank. In such a case whats the user the auth check is performed against? Does it default to the user running the batch application?
b) A similar scenario but this time the message comes over the cluster channel.
The clusrcvr has PUTAUT(CTX) ; but the MQMD userid is blank.
Again whats is the effective userid the auth check is performed against in this case?
In both RESLEVEL is set to NONE.

What ReasonCode(s) were returned?
Did you sezrch Google for +mq+reslevel? A variety of hits.

The errors were all 2035. In anycase, I am trying to understand what effective user is used in such awkward scenarios so the appropriate RACF perms can be given.
I did see Morag's article on MQGEM too but still could't figure out for these situations. |
