Good day,

MQ V9.1.0.5 (Upgrade pending approval to 9.3.0)
ACE 11.0.0.9 (Upgrade pending approval to 12.0.10)
AIX 7.2

We have a message flow that is responsible for sending SMS and email notifications, the flow decides which type of notification it is and sends on to the respective system.

Sometimes the flow becomes unresponsive and message then build up on the respective MQ queue to get it going again a simple stop and start of the flow solves the issue.

There are no constraints in terms of resources on the system and also no errors being reported in the broker logs either.

I am trying to see what the issue might be and was thinking could it be the EG or JVM itself that might be struggling.

If you have experienced this before, please can you provide some input, this happens every once in a while.

Regards,

Rayn

Hi Ryan,

This behaviour typically happens when the failure/catch terminals aren't connected to the flow, or there could be condition that could be causing this specific issue like a code bug or something.

What I would recommed is validate the terminals are all attached and in the mq configuration for the input queue assign a backout queue to that queue. When ever this issue will re-occur, it'll push the message to the backout queue so that the other business transactions are not interrupted.

Then later you can work on the poisonous message in the lower env and figure out what's causing this behaviour, and if possible try to add some more logging to diagnose when the issue re-occurs.
