Hi All,
We were recently trying to capture MQ Statistics on the zOS platform to bring it in line with what we have on the distributed systems at our middleware estate.
However I see that on the zOS qmgr - the MQ Statistics Monitoring is only available for the Channel and not at the queue level.
I tried to check this at the queue level too. We only have the Monitoring and Accounting feature available but not Statistics (distributed has all 3).
IBM documentation on the subject also state the same - what I found above.
Is this feature supported only on the distributed platforms then?
If so, is there a way to achieve this on the mainframe zOS?
We use the MQ statistics published by the qmgr to derive some useful history as to how many messages passed through a queue at any given point.

In z/OS, many things are different. I'd suggest asking a z/OS tech person about SMF record types 115 and 116, which captur extensive performance data.

Thanks
yes I have seen the SMF records and they present a pureplay mainframe view of the MQ performance stats that can be views on the host.
i was hoping to find something that works like on distributed (with stats published as messages on SYSTEM queues) which can then be fed into inhouse tools to present a single view of the stats throughout the middleware estate.
