I have a few questions about MIQM, as I have not actually used it, and we are considering some options for HA in cloud.
Is MIQM strictly 2 instance, 1 must be active, 1 must be standby? Or can additional standby instances be set up?
Are MIQM servers normally dedicated for this purpose, or can apps run on the same servers? Is there a clean method of stopping and starting app processing, when MIQM switch over occurs?
We are looking at running MIQM in MS Azure, and use Azure Files as its NFS v4. Linux CIFS Client on RedHat OpenShift container platform has recently been tested by IBM and found NOT to work.
Ref. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/136799
NFS v4.1 Azure Files is currently in 'preview' by MS.
Ref. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/storage/files/storage-files-compare-protocols#regional-availability
Is anyone considering using MQIM in MS Azure? _________________ Glenn |

Hi There,
Were you able to set it up on MS Azure? I have a similar requirement. Please let me know if any blockers as well and will it work on MS Azure? |

In 2021 we looked at MIQM and RDQM on Azure Linux to provide a high availability solution to replace an on-prem AIX PowerHA cluster. The complexity and limitations of MIQM and RDQM did not meet our requirements, so we retained the PowerHA solution for the remaining life of the application system. _________________ Glenn |
