| BPM 7.5.1 profiles: Which is superset |

I have installed Process Server stand alone profile (template default.procsvr.adv) with BPM 7.5.1.0
I can access various stuff like Process Portal, all the old WPS stuff like Business Space, Business Rules, BPC etc
I have created another stand alone Process Center (template default.procctr.adv) profile and I could use Process Designer to connect to this server.
I have couple of questions
1. Is one of the profile superset of the other. What I mean is, if I create a procctr profile, will I have all that I have in Process Server profile (template default.procsvr.adv) and process center
2. If I have two different profiles like above, will I be able to use the first one (template default.procsvr.adv) as the runtime? I am positive I can do this, but trying to understand how this works before I really do it |

Hi vennela,
The procsvr is the runtime as you've correctly understood...but for basic learning and dev purposes you only need the procctr.
The procctr also gives you the process portal, business space, designer and playback capability for testing...
You should only need the procsvr for test and prod systems where you eventually deploy the artifacts...
I've not tried installing the procsvr but i'm assuming that the designer might not be available with just the procsvr install...and that its part of the procctr.
Note: This is just my understanding...can be wrong.

Both the Process Server profile (template default.procsvr.adv) and the Process Center profile (template default.procctr.adv) offer unique functionalities. While the Process Server profile focuses on runtime execution, the Process Center profile provides a centralized repository for process modeling and collaboration. By creating a Process Center profile, you can leverage the capabilities of both profiles and have access to the features of Process Server and Process Center. You can use the Process Server profile as the runtime while benefiting from the enhanced modeling and governance features of the Process Center profile. |
