Dear All,
I got AIX server with MQ 7.5 and I want to uninstall it and install new version
I stopped the qmgr and listener
dspmqinst shows that the installation dir is /usr/mqm
I executed the below commands with root
installp -u mqm
but got the below error
Not Installed
-------------
No software could be found on the system that could be deinstalled for the
following requests:
mqm
What is wrong here ...
And can I just ignore the error and clear dirs /var/mqm , /usr/mqm and /etc/opt/mqm and consider this as uninstall ?
Thanks

Does this command show that any MQ components are installed?
lslpp -al | grep -i mq _________________ Glenn |

Try it without the -u mqm _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |

I'd thought you'd use smitty to install / uninstall software on AIX? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

The uninstallation instructions for V7.5 MQ on AIX can be read here:
Uninstalling IBM WebSphere MQ on AIX
I can see that there are two choices for uninstalling on AIX and what you have done is the first of the two choices.
An alternative mechanism is to use smit - do you see a similar error if you try that?
