Hello
In order to extract the config, there is a tool called dmpmqcfg
We have MQ Series V6.0 for OpenVMS Itanium 8.4
It seems to me that V6.0 Eco 3 this is the latest availble version for OpenVMS.
If I look at the various directories where I find the MQ Series executables
sys$system:
bin subdirectory of the MQ Series examples
I do not find it
It seems dmpmqcfg has appeared in MQ Series V7.1
Any idea of another tool available (from open source or IBM)?

You ought to be able to run dmpmqcfg on a different system and connect it as a client to the VMS machine. But there might be some oddities if there are any unique attributes for the objects there - no way to know without trying it. |

Thanks
This is a good idea,
I was wondering how people did before MQ Series V7 that added this tool? |

Used the MS03 SupportPac (saveqmgr), which was a lot more feature rich (in my opinion) than the dmpmqcfg utility that replaced it...
...although THIS MIGHT WORK, but for some reason the link keeps wanting to open in Edge, so I can't download it to check, sorry. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Please be precise. What is the 'it' that you have not been able to download?
What errors did you encounter when you tried to download it? What else did you try? What were the results? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I can't begin to guess. So, please be precise. Why does it not work? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

FWIW:
You will better help us help you by providing more precise description and details of the issue(s) you face. "It doesn't work." doesn't work as a problem description. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Hello exerk
It works great!
I define a symbol
saveqmgr :== $ disk:[dir.subdir]saveqmgr
then I use it with a command like
saveqmgr -m -s "QUEMGR" -o -f myconfile.txt
(uppercase QUEMGR is mandatory)
the file myconfile.txt has a very detailed definition of my queue manager with all parameters.
Thanks!

No problem! I've never worked with OpenVMS so you've now added a fresh nugget of knowledge, thank you. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Hi,
You can use MQSC (MQ Script Command) commands to display and capture the configuration information. Connect to the queue manager using the runmqsc command and issue the DISPLAY commands to retrieve the configuration details. |
