We are using some lower version of MQ in widows like 6 and 7.
But i couldn't find the qm.ini file under QM directory for lower version.
I am not familiar with lower version, can anyone help me to know the location of qm.ini file in lower version 6 and 7 of windows MQ |

For MQ V6.0 on Windows I'm pretty sure that most of the qm.ini information was contained in the Registry, but not sure if everything was moved out at base MQ V7.0.
For MQ V7.5 at least, you should find it in C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\qmgrs\[QMNAME]\qm.ini, or your custom install path if you used one.
CAVEAT: I no longer have MQ V6.0/V7.0 installations to check, so you may have to hack around your systems (not that you should be on that level of MQ anymore) and verify. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Correct, on older MQ versions for Windows, the qm.ini entries were in the Windows Registry. Try:
reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IBM\WebSphere MQ" /s
The qmgrs directory is under the MQ data path, not the MQ install path, although they can be the same. _________________ Glenn |

From the old PDF reference material for WebSphere MQ V7.1, I find the following statement in the IBM WebSphere MQ: Product Overview book:
IBM WebSphere MQ: Product Overview wrote: |
Windows: Migration of registry information
Before Version 7.1 all IBM WebSphere MQ configuration information, and most queue manager
configuration information, was stored in the Windows registry. From Version 7.1 onwards all
configuration information is stored in files.
:
Before Version 7.0.1 all IBM WebSphere MQ configuration information was stored in the Windows
registry. In Version 7.0.1, to support multi-instance queue managers, the queue manager configuration
information of some queue managers is stored in qm.ini and qmstatus.ini rather than in the registry. In
Version 7.1, all IBM WebSphere MQ configuration information about Windows is stored in files; the
same files as in UNIX and Linux. If you are migrating an existing Windows system to Version 7.1, the
transfer of configuration data from the registry to files is automatic. It takes place when the installation is
upgraded to Version 7.1. |
So you should not expect to find a qm.ini file on Windows unless you are at a minimum of WebSphere MQ V7.0.1.

use amqmdain for reading and writing the qm.ini.
This way you won't have to worry about qm.ini or registry...
