I'm trying to reply to Damien's "Request and then reply and then another reply." Vienna website returns my reply as undeliverable. What's up with that? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

If you look it up online there is a little glitch that has not yet been resolved:
The archive shows now MQSER-L and not MQSERIES-L even though the email still seems to show MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT...
Something is fundamentally changed and has not been updated as it is not possible to send a reply using the web interface...

Oddly, unexpectedly, I did get a reply directly from Damien on the "Request and then reply and then another reply." My reply didn't show up in the Vienna thread. So, some part of the new Vienna look-and-feel works. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I no longer see my own replies on the list serve and never know if I am posting to /dev/null if no one responds to my post.
I have started including both email addresses when I post a new post or a response. _________________ Peter Potkay

Hi fbj,
In Damian's email reply, I see that you sent your email to "MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT" which is now /dev/nul
The reason Damian replied is that you include his email address in the reply. He sent his reply message to the MQ ListServer.
I'm not sure why Peter is not seeing his reply messages, I'm getting my reply messages. I can't remember how, but I know you can check your settings for the MQ ListServer.
Until someone fixes the MQ ListServer, when you reply to an MQ ListServer message, delete what is in the "To" field and replace it with MQSER-L@listserv.meduniwien.ac.at
Regards,
Roger Lacroix

The "TO:" field is write-protected. I'm unable to correct it to MQSER-L@listserv.meduniwien.ac.at _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

You don't say what email client you are using, but if you cannot change the TO: field on a reply, then I suggest that using forward and typing in the TO: field to the required value might work?

Well, uh... (confused)
I click the little pen icon directly under the printer icon on the Wien webpage for this topic: Re: Want to limit autodefined cluster sender channels to TLS 1.2 or higher
After clicking the pen icon, I'm presented with "Posting a message" page.
that is pre-filled in with check boxes, the top one is pre-checked ON.
To:
To the List (MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT)
To the Poster (roger.lacroix@ROGERS.COM)
The MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT is not overtypable. My email client is not involved. At least one of these must be ON.
Returned email with these errors:
--> Error description:
Error-For: MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT
Error-Code: 5.1.1
Error-Text: 550 5.1.1 <MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table.
Error-End: One error reported. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Well I guess its broken if your only way to use it is the website. Some/many(?) people (myself included) have it set up to get emails when posts are made, and it is when you reply to a post using your email client that correcting the email address in the To: field is appropriate.
Is there a way to report to the listserv admin people that this is broken? If the work-around doesn't work on the website, then they really do need to get that fixed. I'm not familiar with using it from the website (only go there very occasionally to look at archives). Is there a contact admin link?
Cheers,

My wife and I walked right by the Uni. of Wien a few years ago, and I thought about introducing myself. A shiny object distracted me. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Same issue with Vienna post site: emails returned, replies not posted. How do others post and reply?
I attempt to post via the Vienna post site URL for example : https://listserv.meduniwien.ac.at/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind2104&L=MQSER-L&P=R16514
I click Reply icon (a pen). I do not submit my posts/replies via my email client. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I think that website code is not working properly. So you are getting same replies. |

My email client is Hummingbird. I don't see any sent emails to Vienna post site or anywhere else after I post a reply. My observation is that the fill-in page does its magic w/o involving my email client.
How do you (successfully) post or reply to a Vienna post? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Instead of MQSERIES@.... try MQSER-L@.... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

The TO field in the webpage is write-protected with MQSERIES@LISTSERV.MEDUNIWIEN.AC.AT as its contents. Where exactly do I try the MQSER-L thing? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
