Hi,

I have a situation where I need to create New Tasks for users dynamically. task type and no of tasks is not constant. so I think here we really can't follow the pre-defined flow. And I need to track the completion status of each task. (sometimes I might need to do some other activities based on the completion success or not).

How can I achieve this?

thanks

I dont understand the question.
How can the no of tasks (Activities) not be constant. For any process, there have to be a fixed no of activities. You should no all the scenarios and all the activities that need to be executed for a process, before you start designing the process.

If you are saying the Number of times a task is executed is not constant, you can achieve it by using looping.

For Completion status set _RC = 0 and route accordingly. For a failed activity set _RC to some value and do what ever needs to be done.

thanks ratan for your reply. I would like to elaborate my question here.

in our scenario, a Task can be anything like "Call somebody and follow up the case" or "contact mr. xyz" etc. what I am trying to say is, Tasks can be more generic, and a user can set any number of tasks/notes for him on fly. some of those may be irrevalent to the current process and some can be influential but not necessarily happen all the time.

You want me to exclude these Tasks initiation/tracking from workflow and handle them in our application? what if I create one subprocess for Task and call it over and over? In this case you can track each Task individually but really can't relate it with main process flow. right?

pls suggest.

thanks.

If I understand you correctly
"User calls some bdy for additional info, calls Mr.XYZ, has coffee, has Coke" are all just part of one task. when he feels he is done with what ever he has to do, he will finish the workitem.
This is how I would model it, but Others may have better approaches.
