Call it out as a bad design. Fix it before it becomes a mill stone around your neck. Can you run 2 instances of B, that consume from different request queues, and put to different (hard coded) reply queues?

It was easier to do this originally, right?
We'll "never, ever" need to send to anyone else, so why bother writing a half dozen extra lines of code to respect the MQMD's Report, ReplyToQ and ReplyTo QMgr fields.
I get it, you may not have been around when this was first implemented and just have to deal with the subsequent mess, but take heart in knowing that App B is coded incorrectly. App B is wrong, plain and simple.

B belongs to a vendor who due to budget constraints can't put any more billing hours. I doubt they would work for free though  |
