Good morning,
Over the last year or so, we have been experiencing period "monitor loss", for lack of a better term.
In my environment, we have nearly 300 FTE agents, sending and receiving files from stores to corporate headquarters, and vice versa.
From time to time, a store will "lose" a monitor that is responsible for moving files that are generated throughout the day (as opposed to our other monitors that are once a day). Each store has 3 monitors (one for each type of file we're transferring), but it is ALWAYS the same monitor that randomly disappears from any given store. The one that moves files throughout the day.
The solution is to re-run the FTECREATEMONITOR command on the coordination queue manager. Once this is done, the files are all picked up and delivered again.
The next time this happens, it could (and usually is) to another store. Seems to happen maybe once or twice a month... no pattern to the date/time anything that I can figure out.
We are running versions 7.0.4.1 (Coordination queue manager) and 7.0.4.2 in the stores. MQ version is 7.0.1.6. All systems are in a Windows environment.
Thanks for any help you can provide. _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |

I have recently seen this at another client.
Most of these problems were resolved by upgrading MQ and MQ FTE to either MQ 8.0 with includes MFT (the new name) for 64bit or MQ 7.5 w/MFT (for 32bit OS) and migrating the monitors.
All the MFT software is on the MQ Server media (even just the MFT Client).
MQ 7.0.x.x has reached End of Support (EOS).
There are a large number of fixes in those versions with current Fix Packs.
Remember, the MQ FTE client and the current (and every other version) MQ MFT Client are licensed by machine/VM. |
