I just had the situation in which whenever a message from the remote queue is put into the transmission queue, the Get Messages is turned to Inhibited. I have stopped the channel, put Get Messages to Allowed then injected a message into the remote queue. However, when I started the channel up again, the Get Messages was set to back Inhibited. The status of the channel turned to Retrying after that. Have you ever had this issue and if yes, do you know what caused it? |

MQ working as designed.
When the channel that feeds from the transmission queue goes retrying, or is stopped, it sets the transmission queue to get inhibited. To prevent other entities from 'stealing' the messages. A non cluster transmission queue has a one to one relationship with a specific sending channel, and if that channel can't move the messages, then no one or nothing else should be messing with those messages - Get Inhibited. _________________ Peter Potkay

Peter is quite right; the channel does this if it fails for some reason.
What you need to do is find out why the channel failed and went in to RETRY. There should be an error message in the Queue Manager log file explaining why the channel ended and what you should do about it.
Cheers,
Paul. _________________ Paul Clarke
