Hi Docs,
I am using MQ ver 6.0 in AS400 server with ver V6R1. we have created some jobs(connection jobusing strmqmon) for connecting MQ to target application.
recently we found these jobs are being ended automatically with error log
""" Message . . . . : Job 630127/LA7SEC/MQLA7 ended on 10/11/16 at 16:50:24;
34.025 seconds used; end code 0
X.
Cause . . . . . : Job 630127/LA7SEC/MQLA7 completed on 10/11/16 at 16:50:24
after it used 34.025 seconds processing unit time. The job had ending code
0. The job ended after 1 routing steps with a secondary ending code of 0.
The job ending codes and their meanings are as follows:
0 - The job completed normally. ""''
can you please give me any idea how its is happening or any reason for this.

Are you sure they're not just informational messages, considering it's a zero completion code? Are the applications reporting errors at the same time as these messages are appearing? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

I did not understand wat u said sir but in my environment a target application send a transaction message to the queue of a queue manager. The target application is a life insurance application which reads the input message from queue and processes it and sends back to output queue. For the target application to listen and read the message we have created a job using a command ""strmqmon". This job is automatically turned off and when for logs it showed this error. |

So the queue is triggered, i.e. there is an initiation queue monitored by the job (strmqmon) you have created. The follow-on questions are: Does the trigger monitor run when started, or does it end immediately? If not, does the job actually trigger correctly? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

There is no triggering. The job listens for the incoming messages |

What is strmqmon?
Both the version of MQ and the version of AS/400 (iSeries) are incredibly out of date and out of support. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

Good points and muy bad
My assumption was that the OP was trying to set up triggering on an application and was using a triggered queue, an initiation queue, and a trigger monitor - now I'm not sure I understand whether the OP is trying to do THIS? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

The phrase "out of support" pretty much covers it.
Or if you need to hear the words - no they won't. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

And is that job the same one as THIS one from a year ago? If so, what did you do to resolve that problem? And I'll ask the questions again - is that a trigger monitor being started? Is there and initiation queue? Is there a triggered queue?
You have still not stated what the STRMQMON job is, i.e. whether it is a custom job or built-in job. I get no hits for it in Google in relation to iSeries and MQ. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

STRMQMON is not a standard MQ job. At least as far as the v6 documentation for iSeries says.
So it's a custom job.
That it's not clear how we can help with... _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

Thank you for that - I couldn't find my archived V6.0 docs to check. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
