Yes, but you'll have to delete it then redefine it to do so.

My estemed colleague is being somewhat facetious. You cannot alter the QMID. As he says, the only way to get a new QMID is to delete the queue manager completely and create a new queue manager. This will generate a new QMID, however you still have no control over the value. Even when creating a new queue manager you cannot choose the value of the QMID.

He might but as there is as Morag says, no way to set it,... he's going to be creating/deleting an awful lot of QMGRS if he needs a specific QMID (Could be millions and millions)

No, because there's no reason to alter it. It's a unique identifier that is generated by MQ for internal use. Normally admins / uses don't need to pay much attention to it.
