Hi,

bipbroker.exe process is going down frequently and it will be coming up once we execute any mqsi commands on the server for that particular node. Can anyone provide the suggestions to fix this.

Version-IIB v9.0.0.1

Thanks in advance.

So to be clear:

- the node is running with the bipbroker process showing in the tasklist / top
- Spontaneously the bipbroker process crashes with no messages in the event viewer / syslog, disappearing from the running processes
- If you issue any command (such as mqsilist) the node immediately restarts with no messages in the event viewer / syslog and reappears in the tasklist / top command

Do I have that right? Is that what you're describing?

You might want to consider applying some maintenance.

Yes Vitor, the node restarts automatically when we issue any commands and it goes down when idle(no commands or actions on the node).I can see the only below error in log.

BIP2088E: An unexpected exception 'ImbException' was caught.

Right, so at least we have the problem clear.

- which OS is this?
- which edition of IIB is this? (Standard, Advanced, Developer, etc)
- what artifacts are deployed and does it display the same behavior if empty?

The first bowl of chicken soup should be to put a fix pack on.

Version - IIB v 9.0.0.1
OS-Linux
Standard edition

It has some message flows which routes messages using MQ pub sub and do database insertions. The code was deployed long back ago and node was working fine..Seems like the problem started from last 10 days after someone unexpectedly killed the bipbroker process.

I would theorize that when the process was killed, something bad happened to a semaphore.

If this is true, you need a PMR. Cleaning that up isn't something you should do without professional advice.

If this is not true, it still sounds like a PMR to me.
