I can live without it. mqsisetdbparams is typically something you set up once and almost never touch again unless you move the whole application on another broker.
The idea was just to have all application specific configuration in one place. I admit that mqsidbparms is a bit tricky when it comes to storing configuration in version control, for example. You don't want to have passwords anywhere in plain text.
I just wanted to know if I had overseen something when I checked the API.

so you put a standard password in the version that gets stored in say, GIT.
You also put comments that tell the user to change it and use the correct password.
A minor limitation.
