To start with I need to connect with Connect : Direct via IIB
so, IIB should kick of a process in Connect Direct. ( No file sendings reqd)
is this possible if so how ?
my findings :
Using CDoutput node we can accomplish this, when i looked on its usage we have a bunch of properties listed under it & i see Processname as one of it but putting down the processname in it takes me no where
so how do i connect to the Connect : Direct please let me know the procedure so i can ask the CD Team for those details.  |

Why? Why would you connect to Connect Direct from IIB if there are no file sendings required?

I understand you want to execute a process local to the CD Server.
First you have to define that process in the CD Server. This is the Process from the CD node. You also have to have the CD node's coordinates (server , port).

Why would you use IIB to trigger that?

That's a technical requirement - "Use IIB to start services available through CD".
A business requirement is "Ensure that business functions are processed in a timely manner".

IIB is not a scheduler nor is it an administrative tool.
IIB contains Connect Direct capabilities so it can send and receive files.
If you're thinking to use IIB to start Connect Direct processes, are you also thinking to use it to start nightly database backups? Start business applications with a scheduled start time?
If so, the person who can't tell the difference between a technical requirement and a business requirement is worse off than first appeared.

My point was that if you're going to use IIB to schedule a Connect Direct task (which is a very stupid thing to do from a technical standpoint), why not use it for all the scheduled tasks on your site?
I apologize if my sarcasm was not clear. I'm usually much better at conveying it in situations like this.
To be clear: this technical requirement is stupid. Using IIB as a scheduler is stupid. There are much better technical solutions to the business requirement of "Ensure processes run in a timely manner".
