Hello folks,
1. I’m trying to use q program in MQ V8, to store messages in a file in readable format (dmpmqmsg works fine, but it generates the output in binary format)
[mqm@ua00510d scripts]$ ./q -mMQ002E -iSYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE -dfnd3 > msgs.file
MQSeries Q Program by Paul Clarke [ V5.0.0 Build:Jul 17 2008 ]
Connecting ...failed.
MQCONN on object 'MQFT002E' returned 2059 QMgr not available..
2. Is there an option with dmpmqmsg, to store messages in readable format?
This is resolved by setting up the mq environment as below:
. /opt/mq/80/MQ002E/bin/setmqenv -s -k

What is the subtext of the Q program output. Are you saying that Q fails to connect to a running, local Queue Manager ?
