Greetings.......
Environment: AIX 6.1
MQ 7.5.0.3
I have an established cluster with two FR's (i'll call them FR1 and FR2). Soon I will be moving FR1 to another Queue Manager. Most of the PR's in the cluster currently have clussdr channels to FR1. I wanted to get a heads up on this move and have the PR's start using FR2 instead. As a test, I defined another clussdr channel to FR2. Stopped the clssdr channel to FR1. Created a new cluster queue.
I expected or had hoped that it would use the FR2 clussdr channel. What I found, were two message stuck on the SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE with correlation ids of TO.FR1 It seems that the PR is bound to FR1. I started the clssdr channel to FR1 again and the messages flowed. My question is: how do I swap what FR the PR communicates with?
The new FR will have a different name, so it is more than just altering the clussdr conname or a dns alias. I would like to move all the current PR's point to FR1 to FR2, then drop FR1 from the cluster as a FR and then add the new QMGR in as the new second FR.
Just wondering how to do/force that FR path to FR2 at this point, or maybe my process is flawed all together! |

By demoting FR1 to a PR, it would flush the current clussdr in the PR(s) cache and use the "other" manually defined clussdr which now points to FR2. Am I understanding that correctly?
So setting up the new FR and introducing it to the cluster would not be a benefit until I demote the old FR and flush those old FR1 connections away. Correct? |

If you add a new FR, then PRs will discover it.
If you delete an FR qmgr without demoting it, then the cluster will be ... problematic. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |
