Hi all
my question is about record and replay
could it be use as auditing/logging method for iib project contain hundreds of nodes that will record it's event on the record and replay Data Base?
will it be reliable enough

Hundreds of nodes?
how much space do you have in your DB then?
how many transactions per second?
Set it up for one flow.
Run some tests
Of course Record/replay will be reliable. But it may slow your system down a bit if you are logging a lot of things.
do you envisage every wanting to replay a message? Is your data time dependant? If another message comes along that superceeds a previous one then what damage would replaying an older message do?
Or look at boundary logging/auditing.
Log/Audit what goes in and what goes out.
Do the sums and make your own evaluation.
Could you have so much data they you can't see the wood for the trees?
Only you can make a proper judgment as to which is best to use in your particular case.
Just my $0.02 worth.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

thanks smdavies99 for the reply
Data Base space and transaction per second won't change whether i used custom auditing asset or using the record and replay feature
i wonder about the percentage that the record and replay will slow down my system as this will help to decide whether i should choose this solution or not

Don't forget that with some custom auditing you can enrich the data stored to make a little matter of support a lot easier.
There is an awful lot more sto this subject than just logging the messages.
Maybe I'm biased because I have a well used logging and auditting framework that I can apply to systems very easily. It could be well worth the investment in time to develop your own framework. We can't tell that because we don't know that the overall business objectives of this is for YOUR system. These will differ from system to system.
Only you can tell whih is best for you. _________________ WMQ User since 1999
