I have an application that uses JMS over MQSeries 5.1 on Windows 2000. I create a queue connection using MQConnectionFactory and I set a message listener on the queue. This connection is created with the Session.CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE. When a message arrives in the queue, the listener gets an onMessage() callback. The listener performs some process and commits the queue. The application ends normally after this, but the message is put back into the queue.
The reason it is strange is that this behavior is reproducible only when the MQSeries and the application are run in the same machine. If the MQSeries is installed on a remote machine, things behave the way I expect them to. i.e. The message is not in the queue after the application ends.
The problem is solved. The queue connections were initialized multiple times in the same thread. This caused this strange behavior. It is still strange why the behavior was not consistent with the MQSeries on a remote machine.
