Hi,

My application is sending the priority 1, 2, 3 from the header level to IBM MQ. Now with in the MQ level How can i display the top priority messages. meaning I want to display the priority 1 in the top always, then priority 2, 3 in the another Q. Is it possible in IBM MQ?

Regards,
Sathish

Of course. Setting the priority would be a bit pointless if higher priority messages didn't move to the top of the queue.

Display the top messages in the queue. You don't mention what you're using to display them, so it's hard to be more detailed.

You do need to ensure:
- the priority "from the header level" is correctly set in the IBM header (MQMD). A priority value in any part of the payload won't have any effect
- the local queue the message is sitting on is configured to respect message priority, rather than simply hold messages FIFO.

And if memory serves correctly the highest priority is 9 and the lowest is 0.
So no, priority 1 will always be displayed AFTER any higher priority messages if the delivery mode of the queue is set to priority...
