HI,
i have successfully installed MQSeries5.2.1, MQSI2.0 and DB2 7.2 i have created a Queue Manager(MQSIQM) with default dead letter queue and port as 1414. I have created 3 databases for Configuration Manager, Message Repository and Broker , i have also created the IBM odbc drivers
"dsn" for Broker and Message Repository. Now my problem is, when i start creating configuration manager am getting the following error... " BIP8078E: A Problem was encountered while attempting to create/delete the Configuration Manager. The operation was not completed successfully. Check messages in the system log for related errors and retry the operation. " i have ran the following command and also i have done the same using the GUI.... command :
mqsicreateconfigmgr -i mquser -a **** -q MQSIQM -n CMDB -m MRDB
Note : **** is password
I have added all the users and groups correctly, but still amd unable to create the configuration manager. But am successful in creating the Broker with the same user and password. Am unable to get
what the problem is? Please do help me...
regards,
James |

What messages did you see in the system logs? |

I'm going to take a guess that the message complains about the Message Repository database.
Make sure the user is also part of Administrators group.

James,
in order to create the config manager, some Windows services need to be installed on your machine:
Server
Computer Browser
Please make sure they're up and running. |

Did you create the databases using the same userid or a different one? If its a different one you need to specify that username and password in the command. You can refer to Administration guide for the correct syntax.
