Hi - Is it a good practice to run both WSRR and IIB on the same server for a production implementation ? Or is installing and running these on different servers is recommended ?

No different to running any 2 pieces of software on the same box. Or not. On the plus side they contend for resources, on the minus side there's a potentially vunerable connection. And so forth, and so forth.

Think about the decision process you'd follow to install WAS and Oracle on the same server or two different servers. Or WAS and WMQ. Follow that process. The considerations are broadly the same...

In my vision, without further information (can you give more detail on WSRR usage?) , definitely i would go for running WSRR and IIB in separate servers.

are you using WSRR as another "component/piece" for exclusive usage by IIB ?

are you using WSRR as catalog for all services (web services) ? do you users (IT and business) use WSRR to discover services ?

Do you use WSRR as a service repository and/or registry ? do you govern service lifecycle in WSRR ?

so, you must understand what kind of usage WSRR , what is the strategy for the future, give us info and we can advise you better.
