Dear ALL,
I am triyng to create multi instance queue manager in two local systems which are in same network i have a created a folder in one system with qmgrs and log folders and shared the folder in network. I have created qmanager using CRTMQM and added queue inf to other system using addmqinf, It went fine two weeks ago but after i have deleted the queue manager and tried to do the same process by adding newly created queue manager inf on the other system iam getting the following errors
AMQ6245: Error executing system call 'FindFirstFile' on file 'E:\IBM\WebSphereMQ\qmgrs\FR!T1' error '21'.
AMQ7001: The location specified for the queue manager is not valid.
can any body help me with this please |

dir you do an rmvmqinf on the second node before deleting the QMGr on the first?
I've done what you are trying to do many time but never seen the problem you are encountering
It would help us if you were to include the Version Of WMQ/IBM MQ including the fixpack that you are using.

hi smadavies99,
Iam using MQ 7.5.0.1 i have done that i had used rmvmqinf on the second qmanager previously. But now i am unable to create using addmqinf on the second machine. It is throwing above mentioned errors |

What does a 'dspmq' show?
Does that QMGR directory already exist?
{E:\IBM\WebSphereMQ\qmgrs\FR!T1}
Does 'E:\IBM\WebSphereMQ\' exist ?
Is this the same on both systems?
what does 'dspmqinst' show on both servers? Are they the same?
We really need more information from you about your configuration. If you can't supply it then your only way forward is to raise a PMR

Hi davies, thanks for the response i have tried the dspmqinst on both machines on my machine it has shown

Why are your installation path on the two systems different?
AFAIK, they should be identical.

It is my colleague's system previously it worked on iam able to create the multi instance queue manager with same path |

The installation path shouldn't matter, afaik.
The error sounds like the drive mapping for E: is not visible to the MQ processes. |

Hi mqjeff,
I think so but i am able to open the files from share drive from the other end system. I think any permissions or any authorization errors iam thinking iam unable to figure it out. Can anyone give me some idea what am i missing |

This is my point.
If you log in as user A, and create a drive mapping to E:.
Then user B - especially if already logged in! - will not be able to see that drive mapping.
So the MQSeries service runs as user MUSER_MQADMINx (for some value of x depending on whether you have more than one install on the same machine). |

Instead of using a drive letter have you tried using the UNC path?

hi fjb_saper i have used UNC path only for the folder and i haved used the UNC path while creating and adding mqinf on the console. I have previously succeded in doing this but from past two weeks iam getting issue with this |

OK so check a few things.
A) cycle the MQ service on the non working box. Should make it pickup permissions
B) verify UNC permissions (full permissions) to the group specified in the -a at qmgr creation
C) make sure the service ID is part of the group specified in the -a at qmgr creation
D) service ID is member of local mqm and local administrators

yes iam using the service id logistics\Domain mqm
UNC i have provided Everyone full access it is windows 7
Service id is present in mqm
windows is throwing some error '21' as the error 21 is ERROR_NOT_READY |
