What is the difference between EVAL statement and EVAL function?

If the syntax is same .. How the compiler identifies that it is statement or function?

One is a statement and the other is a function. This means that the statement version can only contain (one or more) statements that do not return a value, whereas the other can only contain an expression that returns a value. Which is used depends on the context.

Kind regards,
