Hi,

I have a jee 6 application running in Glassfish 3.1.2.
In one scenario we use WMQ to act as a pub/sub provider (jms topic with dynamic subscription).

The application runs just fine for a long period of time, but then
without any logging or exceptions we find that the MDB side seems to have
disconnected from the "subscription" in WMQ.
We can see from MQ explorer that the amount of messages increases for the
subscription, but nothing is received on the MDB side.

My main problem is that i cannot see what is happening, because there are no errors or wars in the logs so i cannot find fix the problem.

Is it a common problem with MDBs stop receiving messages?
How is it normally logged, what component, level etc (need to check against log4j config)?

I have now spent a few hours reading up on MDB reconnection and i have checked the application and we have this enabled, 60 retries and 60 seconds apart. It seems from the documentation that also this would be logged, but this is not found in the application or server logs either.

Any support here would be greatly appreciated!

Please also check if your app server is using an ExceptionListener on the Connection and whether it is retrying the connection upon exception...., check TCP keep alive values...

Yes, i have checked and yes we have the ExceptionListener in use in the NotificationReceiver MDB.

It however never logs any problems in either server or application logs.

So did you check the reaction time of the ExceptionListener in conjunction with the TCP/IP keep alive time of the box?
