My other objection to using SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE is that to view it with MQ Explorer you need to show all the other system objects. Having a DLQ that is not hidden away by default is goodness IMHO.

It isn't that hard to put

I have/had a pragmatic reason for naming the DLQ something like <QmgrName>.DLQ modeled after the S.D.L.Q and that was an alert system that would call me and try to speak or spell the text of the alert. I could easily tell if it was PROD or something else and get a clue as to which system was in trouble.
