I've only just started playing with the SOAP nodes, but an assumption I made isn't working out so well and now I'm wondering how this should (could?) be handled...

Flow A accepts a SOAP request, processes, and responds via SOAP reply node.

Flow B is a bit of an enhancement to flow A. I want to do all the same stuff in B, just add some extra processing. So my thought was: I'll just put another SOAP request node in flow B to call A and I'm good. But... I just learned that the SOAP reply node in A will respond all the way back to the caller and not the "calling" flow, which is flow B in this case.

Is there a more appropriate way to structure this using subflows, or do I need a compute node in here somewhere to say: reply to original caller or route back to another flow? Am I going about this all wrong?

No, it should work the way you think it should.

If it doesn't, either it's broken or you're doing something wrong.

Interesting... I'll keep investigating.

Edit: weird... I deleted my flows, rebuilt, redeployed, and sure enough it is working as intended now. Something was briefly confused, possibly me.

Thanks!

Were you doing your SOAP requests over http or over JMS?
If over JMS make sure you set the correct JMSREPLYTO before calling A from B.
