I would be very grateful for some advice please?

Have a requirement to create a multi-instance qmgr on Z-Linux (SUSE) but sadly the use of NFS4 isn’t an option for us. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe GPFS is supported on Z or is it?

Other than using Network Attached Storage are there any other options for the shared storage?

Go to google. Search for gpfs+z/Linux.

From this http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?subtype=ca&infotype=an&appname=iSource&supplier=877&letternum=ENUSZG14-0074

GPFS V4.1 is supported on IBM Power Systems™ servers running the AIX® or Linux™ operating systems, and IBM System x® and other rack-based servers, as well as non-IBM x86 and x64 servers, running the Linux or Microsoft Windows operating systems ...

A quick google search for gpfs+z/linux resulted in this http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IC74805

From my reading of MI configuration doc, NFS v4 (or later) is a pre-requisite.

I believe that technically, anything that meets the necessary conditions is supported.

GPFS and NFSv4 and maybe one other thing are the only things the lab has *tested*.

Testing and support statement for WebSphere MQ multi-instance queue managers can be found here: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21433474
