Hi All,
I have certain conceptual queries with respect to MQSeries Workflow.
1. Does the participating applications should be in the same machine ?? Even
if they are all of them are controlled by
MQSeries Workflow in one machine right??
2. Does MQSeries Workflow control data flow ??
3. Does the participating applications(Process) should always use MQseries
as the communication medium.??

App A ----------> App B -------> App C-----------> App D

What I mean to ask is does Workflow control the data flow or only process
flow. Is it possible that App C and App D can communicate using some other
middleware with MqSeries Workflow managing the whole process.??

4. Is it mandatory to specify the Input and Output data for each process in
a workflow?. Why does workflow need this when
we are not going act on data using Workflow.?

Thanks in Advance,
Regards,
Kishan

1) I don't understand what you mean by this... please give a better explanation.

2) Yes... MQWF handles both Control and Data flow. Data flow is through the mappings you make between containers.

3) C and D can communicate however you want... but you can use the containers to pass data from C to D and MQWF will provide the data for you.

4) NO YOU don't have to specify anything because MQWF will use the "Default Data Container" (which is empty) for every container if not told otherwise. If you don't need to pass data from one activity to the next, then you don't need to specify any data containers.

GOOD LUCK
